Frequently Asked Questions 1. Does it hurt? Yes, but everyone handles pain differently and when done right, all tattoos are tolerable. 2. Is there a part of the body that hurts more or less than another? Getting tattooed is an "uncomfortable" experience at varying degrees on ANY part of the body and that's all there is to it. The degree of pain varies from area to area (for example, getting tattooed on your ribs is likely to be more painful than getting tattooed on your forearm just by virtue of placement of nerve endings). REMEMBER: a tattoo is a lifetime commitment. You should be more concerned about a desirable, permanent location and not a fleeting, tolerable pain - get the tattoo where you WANT it or you'll regret it later. Pain goes away ... a tattoo doesn't. BE CERTAIN and LEAVE HAPPY ! 3. How long will the color last? A lifetime if taken care of properly. 4. How do I take care of my new tattoo? See our section called 'Aftercare' 1. Does it hurt? Yes, but a piercing done right is so fast that it's less painful than most injections. 2. Can you numb the area? NO! Only licensed medical professionals can inject anesthetics. 3. How long does it take to heal? Healing times vary depending upon the individual as well as the part of the body pierced. 4. Are piercing needles used only once? YES! All needles are disposed of after each appointment. 5. What metals are the best for new piercings? Only surgical steel or nickel-free gold should be used in order to minimize the risk of allergic reactions. 6. Do you use a piercing gun? NEVER! Piercing studs traumatize the body and are not the correct length for parts of the body other than the lobe. Also, the gun itself cannot be properly sterilized. |
